About Karen: 

Karen Lawson took on the CEO position at Slingshot after five months working as the Head of Innovation for its corporate scaleup program. Under her leadership the company has worked with some of Australia’s biggest corporates, including Qantas, Lion Group, Seek and HCF. Lawson also spearheaded the launch of a new Slingshot platform to connect corporates with startups and scaleups called CoVentured.

The former CEO of online job marketplace CareerOne, she has over a decade of experience working in executive roles within Australia’s technology sector. She played a key role in the reinvention of CareerOne from a job board into a broader technology business by partnering with startups to deliver shareholder value. Prior to CareerOne she worked as Yahoo!7’s General Manager of Business development and partnerships, leading several of the company’s experimental new media and technology endeavours.
